IPMA,
International Project Management Association

IPMA is a federation of about 70 Member Associations. Our MAs develop project management competences in their geographic areas of influence, interacting with thousands of practitioners and developing relationships with corporations, government agencies, universities and colleges, as well as training organizations and consulting companies.

Through IPMA, project management practitioners from all cultures and all parts of the world can network, share ideas, and move our practice and our stakeholders forward through effective collaboration and cooperation.

History

IPMA is the world’s first project management association, founded in 1965. Our Member Associations cooperate to help project and programme managers achieve project and business success. Originally started as an international network to exchange project management experiences, the organisation developed into global organisation in the 1970s, organising courses and events. In 1996 the organisation was renamed as IPMA, International Project Management Association, and started its certification activities.
